AI in Fleet Management Starts With Listening to Our Customers

Every year, Assured Telematics by Transflo asks its customers one simple question: What would you like to see? The best ideas come from the people managing fleets and pulling reports every day, so we listen and work with our technology partners to develop solutions that meet those needs.

This year the focus was AI. We asked what it should actually do for your fleet. The top three submissions each earned a free Apple iPad, but the real prize is what these ideas tell us about where fleet management is headed.

Customer Ideas Shaping the Future of Fleet AI

The requests came from very different operations, from a dental group to a produce supplier. Every single one was practical. Our customers want faster answers, safer drivers, and fewer wasted miles:

  • Talk to Ace from any screen. One fleet administrator wants to ask Geotab Ace for data on a specific driver from anywhere in MyGeotab and get an answer on the spot. Building reports is a useful skill, but a quick decision needs a quick answer.
  • Voice control for drivers. Another customer wants drivers to change duty status, apply an exemption, or set navigation just by speaking, with the response read back to them. Eyes stay on the road the whole time.
  • Dashboards built from plain language. One request was to describe a dashboard in a sentence and let AI build it, along with automated reporting on driver incidents and performance. Hours of configuration become a single request.

The AI Tools Fleets Asked For Are Already Arriving

Ideas like these are closer than they might seem. In June, Geotab launched the Geotab MCP Connector, which brings live MyGeotab data and the Geotab Ace platform into AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot. Fleet teams can ask questions in plain language, then create alerts, schedule maintenance, generate reports, and build dashboards without leaving their AI environment.

The connector is built on an open standard and applies your existing MyGeotab user permissions, so people only see data they are already authorized to access. Behind it sits the same Geotab platform that processes roughly 37 trillion data points a year from more than six million connected vehicles.

The overlap with our customer requests is hard to miss. Conversational access to fleet data, dashboards from a plain language request, and route insights are all things the connector supports today. Voice control for drivers feels like the natural next step as these tools mature.
